October 21st 2010

PLAIN CITY, Ohio, October 21, 2010 —7HO7872 KHW Kite ADVENT-RED-ET (EX-94) was named Premier Sire for the second consecutive year at the 2010 Grand International Red and White Show held at World Dairy Expo, Madison, Wis. Not only was ADVENT-RED named Premier Sire of the show, but 21 daughters placed among the top five of their class and his daughters were awarded reserve grand champion, intermediate champion and reserve intermediate champion honors.

“ADVENT-RED’s daughters are making a huge impact in the breed,” said Charlie Will, manager of Holstein sire acquisition for Select Sires. “His heifers have dominated on the colored shavings for a few years now, and they continue to develop into great young cows with beautiful udders.”  Although ADVENT-RED died in March 2009, his legacy will be felt for generations to come, both at Select Sires and in the Holstein breed. His sons and daughters continue to transmit the same qualities that made him so popular – tall and open frames, stylish front ends, beautiful udders and correct feet and legs.

ADVENT-RED daughter Silvermine Adv Tally-Red-ET (EX-91) was named reserve grand champion and intermediate champion after topping the senior 3-year-old cow class. Taking home the reserve intermediate champion title was ADVENT-RED daughter Budjon-Nitzy Destiny-Red-ET (EX-92). She was the first place junior 3-year-old cow and futurity class winner.
