Waupun, WI – Phil Dieter, an employee of East Central/Select Sires, was honored as the 2011 Select Reproductive Solutions (SRS) Specialist of the Year last month at the Select Sires national SRS Conference in Green Bay, WI.
The award is presented annually to recognize an SRS Specialist that exemplifies the Select Reproductive Solutions Program approach of offering farmers a customized reproductive management program to help them meet their reproductive goals and maximize their progress.
“Phil is a very talented employee of our cooperative with a great future ahead of him,” said Al Deming, Member Manager at East Central/Select Sires. “He has been the key go to guy for the entire Select Sires federation for the new Select Detect heat detection system and has also been a leader in Select Analysis programs to measure reproductive success in our member herds.”
Dieter started at East Central/Select Sires as a member service representative (MSR), better known as a technician, in 2001. In 2008, he was promoted to the SRS specialist due to his extensive experience with large herds. As the SRS specialist, Dieter oversees many programs at East Central/Select Sires including reproductive services, beef programs, Program for Fertility Advancement (PFA) and the newly released activity monitoring system, Select Detect. He also is an A.I. trainer, personnel trainer, technician supervisor, Dairy Comp instructor, herd consultant, and coordinates research field trials. Along with his responsibilities at East Central/Select Sires, he also spends time on a national level where he serves on numerous Select Sires Inc. committees.
