Dr. Ray Nebel named 2013 Pioneer Award Winner for East Central/Select Sires

Dr. Ray Nebel of Plain City, Ohio has been selected to receive East Central/Select Sires most prestigious award, the Pioneer Award.  Dr. Nebel joined Select Sires in 2005 and East Central was the first member organization he worked with.  He currently serves as the Vice President of Technical Service Programs at Select Sires, Inc., where he coordinates the Select Reproductive Solutions™ program. 


Dr. Nebel’s activities range from conducting seminars to the development and training of Select Sires personnel along with evaluating and consulting with dairies.  He also develops training materials and conducts applied research.  He developed the RePRO Analysis Program™, SelectCheck™ (a large herd technician training school), and is product manager of the heat detection systems Select Sires handles. 


Through Ray’s leadership and education, East Central has been the leader in heat detection systems sold.  Ray has spoken at every MSR Conference since 2005.  He has played an integral role in East Central’s large herd growth through technician training.


“Ray has been an integral part of the growth at East Central/Select Sires.  The educational conferences, meeting presentations, and detection system research he has done has enabled us to be better prepared to serve our members.


“Ray can talk and communicate well with all types of audiences.  We are pleased to recognize Ray as the 2013 Pioneer Award winner,” said Al Deming, the General Manager of East Central/Select Sires.
